Visual Inspiration for Xuh'lan III

Here are two more sources of visual inspiration for Xuh’lan, following up on my previous two posts: I, II.

First we have som amazing clips from Aelita Queen of Mars, a Soviet 1924 SF-movie. The spectacularly futuristic costumes and set goes well with the equally futuristic, but contemporary, soundtrack by Finnish industrial group Cleaning Women. This is very much how I picture the ancient and decadent high-tech arcologies of Xuh’lan, such as Yankhara.

Gandahar (aka Light Years) is perhaps a bit more idyllic than Xuh’lan, but the colorful landscapes filled with exotic cultures and alien lieforms hit the right spot.
