Character Creation Challenge 19: Furies of the Barrens

This Black Hack-based game is kind of Dark Sun-ish, but only in a general sense, the setting has a weird style of its own with many strange creatures (playable as well as monsters) well outside the standard D&D-fare.

Instead of rolling stats, you simply choose a class that gives you a row of values that you can modify to suit your whim. I choose the Psychotronist, a human adept at using psionic crystal tech. Int and Wis are the main attributes for this class, so I raise them one step each at the expense of two points of Cha, and one point each of Dex and Con. In this regard, FotB is a bit like Talislanta – choose which funny-looking weirdo you want to play and just record the stats given for them.

Aelita is a young psychotronist who has seen her village destroyed by raiders and her master sentenced to death for defying the local Overlord, Kraggan. She knows that power is the only thing that can secure safety and freedom, which is why she’s looking to explore the barrens and the hollows in the hope of finding psychotronic knowledge and artifacts. Will Aelita find the power she seeks, and if so, will she look out for anyone but herself?
